BISMARCK, N.D. The process to recall Bismarck mayor Mike Seminary took another step forward.

The Secretary of State's office confirmed that the format of the petition to get Seminary recalled is approved.

The group "Better Leadership 4A Better Bismarck" will now need to obtain 1,898 valid signatures on the petition. The group says Seminary should be recalled for many reasons. They say one of the main reasons is that he pushed ahead on the Event Center expansion.

If the petition is approved, a special election would be held.

Seminary's term ends in 2018.
