One Bismarck gas station gives customers a break at the pump for Christmas

BISMARCK, N.D. - Christmas time is often called the season of giving. One gas station in town made sure they participated in the season by giving customers a big break at the pump.

Charlie Lutz has been working at the Runway Express Mart for about 20 years. This Christmas he and his bosses gave their customers a Christmas present.

"We lowered our gas from $2.49 to $2.19 for those two days for the customer," said Lutz.

The discount received a lot of attention on social media and they saw it in the store, as well.

"A lot of people thanking us, very gracious customers saying thank you for lowering the gas for the Christmas holiday," said Jeff Dick, owner of Runway Express.

"We were open on Christmas eve and the people that we coming in we're ecstatic they were thank us for the Christmas gift it was just unbelievable," said Lutz.

But the best part for Charlie, the feeling of giving a gift.

"Oh, it's nice. Just the smile on all these people's faces, ya, it's very warm. Very nice, very warm," said Lutz.

Some are wondering if it will become a holiday tradition.

"As successful as it was, it probably will carry over to next Christmas also," said Dick.

You'll have to pay close attention though, the sale was short lived, prices went back to normal Tuesday Morning.

If your vehicle has a 20 gallon tank the discount would have saved you $6 on a full tank.
