North Dakota man arrested in Georgia following child sex crime investigation

Get more appsBing Maps MINOT, N.D. – A North Dakota man faces felony child sex crime charges following a child sex crimes investigating in the state of Georgia.

Court records indicate that a detective from Pauling County, Ga., contacted Minot Police regarding an investigation into 31-year-old Timothy Sprenger.

The detective told Minot Police that a relative of Sprenger’s discovered pages from a journal where Sprenger had detailed sexually abusing a child.

Investigators say the journal pages revealed graphic details, where Sprenger admitted to performing sex acts on himself in the diaper aisles at stores. He later admitted in the journal entries that he had molested a baby as young as six months old, and again when the child was three.

The encounters between Sprenger and the child all would have occurred in Minot.

Authorities extradited Sprenger to Minot, and he made his initial appearance Oct. 6 on A-felony charges of gross sexual imposition and continuous sexual abuse of a child.

He will appear for his preliminary hearing and arraignment Nov. 9, and faces up to 20 years in prison on each charge if convicted.
