Name released in Highway 1806 fatal crash

The name has been released of the Hebron man who was killed Wednesday afternoon on Highway 1806.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Damon Miller was driving 14 miles north of Watford City when his cement truck went onto the east shoulder. He then overcorrected and entered the west ditch. The truck rolled over and landed on its top.

Miller died at the scene.

The crash caused concrete to spill from the overturned truck. The state health department says about 1/3 of a cubic yard of ready-mix concrete, a quart of hydraulic fluid and less than a pint of engine oil were released from the truck.

The department says the spill has impacted a nearby pond, and department personnel are onsite monitoring the cleanup effort.
