N.D. Senate passes wind turbine light mitigation technology law

BISMARCK, N.D. - Wind turbines have become increasingly popular over the last 10 years, but law makers in North Dakota want to make sure they aren't becoming an eye sore.

House Bill 1378 addresses light mitigation technology on wind power stations throughout the state.

Some residents don't like the constant blinking lights on the wind turbines, so the new technology would allow the lights to stay off until detected by an airplane.

The rules are consistent with the federal aviation administration regulations.
