WILLISTON, N.D. - Montana Sen. Jon Tester has written a letter to the Department of the Interior.
In it, he urges the Department to work with a rapid response team that was set up to combat invasive mussels.
Tester has expressed concern that invasive mussels in Montana pose a real threat to lakes and reservoirs across the west.
Tuesday, Montana's other senator, Steve Daines, approached the Army Corps of Engineers to speed up funding for watercraft inspection stations.
The Tiber Reservoir and Canyon Ferry were closed to boating after invasive mussels were found in Montana waterways last week.
