June 11, the 2016 Miss North Dakota, Macy Christianson, was crowned in Williston.
While the news is still sinking in for Christianson, she's already preparing for the Miss America Pageant.
"A lot of work is going to go into it. Everything from preparing to interview, to working on my talent which is dancing. So a lot of blood, sweat and tears gets put into that, but it's really exciting and I'm really excited to meet all the contestants that I'm competing against and I love that I can represent North Dakota on that stage," says Christianson.
The Miss America Pageant is in September in Atlantic City.
This weekend was also the Miss Montana Pageant in Glendive featuring 11 contestants.
Four girls from the Eastern part of the state made the top five.
Abigail Helland from Glasgow was the fourth runner-up, Julie Theis from Sidney was third runner-up, second runner-up went to Savanah Leidholt of Miles City and the first runner-up was Alysse Charlesworth from Glendive.
Lauren Scofield from Havre took the crown of Miss Montana.
She will join Miss North Dakota Macy Christianson in Atlantic City this fall.
