MINOT, N.D. - Minot's Downtown Association is getting the city ready for the holidays. Crews installed the city's Christmas tree Monday.
The Colorado Blue Spruce, which stands at nearly 30 feet tall, will adorn the north end of Main Street right before the railroad tracks. The person who donated this year's tree wanted to remain anonymous.
TC Nursery chopped down the tree and Real Builders moved it to its new home. The Downtown Association will light the tree Friday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.
“This year the tree's gonna be better than ever. We've actually got garland going through the tree, a lot of 17-inch ornaments, two stars that were purchased by a gentleman that makes them at Pride of Dakota, so we'll have lots of different things this year,” said Debbie Harris, Downtown Association.
Harris said the tree lighting is free to the public. There will be music, cookies, hot chocolate and an appearance from Santa.
