Minot woman sentenced for embezzling from employer

MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a Minot woman for stealing about $8,700 from the TJ Maxx store while working there as a cashier.

Prosecutors accused Brittany Haynes, 27, of using a scheme involving hundreds of fraudulent returns.

Haynes pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony theft charge. She was sentenced to a year of supervised probation and ordered to repay the money. She must also pay $1,100 in court costs.
