MINOT, N.D. - Minot's snow plows have been at work for much of Monday, at times down two blades.
Minot Public Works Director Dan Jonasson said Minot's plows were out clearing the streets as early as 3:30 a.m.
Jonasson said the plows begin on the city's main roads, Broadway and Burdick, and then 16th Street, before moving to smaller, residential neighborhoods.
He said the city normally has eight running blades, but two of them gave out earlier today and had to go to the shop.
“With the snow continuing like this non-stop, even if we plow something, it's gonna be filled back in within a few hours. Takes us a while to get back over everything. We've got over 550 lane miles that we need to cover,” said Jonasson.
The city has released information on adjusted city bus routes and garbage pickup delays in light of the storm.
You can find information on buses and garbage pickups on the city’s website: www.minotnd.org
The city also has GPS trackers on each plow. You can track the plows through Minot on this website: http://razortracking.net/?pv=47FXP2M
