Minot police captain retires after 30 years

MINOT, N.D.- Thirty years ago Thursday, Minot Police Captain Rob White joined the force.

Today he hung up his badge in a room full of friends and colleagues, and his favorite drink.

He wasn't the only one being recognized however.

Steve Whitesell and Dale Plessas both got promotions before Dale was honored with two plaques for his service, one from the city of Minot and one from the Minot Police Department.

Rob now gets more time to enjoy the activities he enjoys when he's normally off-duty.

“The thing about golf and fish is they're both four letter words. They're both in the water most the time,” Rob joked.

Rob's 30 years of service was celebrated with some of his favorite things, Mountain Dew, the golf course, and his specially marked "101" golf balls.
