Minot murder case headed for trial

MINOT, N.D. - A Florida man charged in a November 2015 murder in Minot will stand trial.

State prosecutors have accused 26-year-old Johnny Norwood, Jr., of fatally shooting 30-year-old Roger Falana in a downtown Minot alley.

Norwood fled the state following the incident but was arrested by Las Vegas police last July.

He faces felony charges of murder, attempted murder and reckless endangerment, and is also accused of shooting another person who survived.

Norwood faces the chance of life in prison without parole if convicted on the AA-felony murder charge.

The courts will set a two-week trial for Norwood, likely in late summer or fall.
