MINOT, N.D. - Thomas Barry has accepted a formal offer to become Minot's new City Manager.
Barry's selection comes following a series of public interviews with the three finalists last week.
Barry has served as the Public Works director for the city of Meridian, Idaho, since 2008.
He has received several honors for his public service.
Before working in Idaho, Barry worked for the Washington state cities of Redmond and Bellevue.
The Minot City Council must approve the selection at a special meeting Oct. 21.
Pending the council's approval, Barry would start work Dec. 12.
He would replace Lee Staab, who left the city in August for a public-sector position in Colorado.
City Finance Director Cindy Hemphill has served as the Interim City Manager since Staab’s departure.
