Minot due to celebrate 130 years

MINOT, N.D. - A pre-celebration leading up to the State Fair. The City of Minot is another year older this Sunday.

The Magic City will celebrate one hundred and thirty years after it official became a city on July 16, 1887..

The party will be held at Oak Park on and is free to the public.

The Birthday celebration is being collaborated with the Arts in the Park event as well.

Derek Hackett, the Public Information Officer of the city of Minot says that there will be free food, cake, a magic show, live music and a walk through the last nineteen decades of Minot's history. He adds that the new garbage trucks will be at the celebration as well.

The City's birthday party will be held at 5 o'clock Sunday night in between the Art in the Park performances beginning at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
