PASADENA, Cal. – A Mohall woman and her family had the privilege of riding on a float in Monday’s Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Cal., Monday, after winning a charity agriculture competition.
Ashley Gulke and her family donated the revenue of five acres worth of soybeans to charity. The grower with the highest-yielding beans won a 2018 pickup truck for a year and a trip to California to ride on a float in the Rose Parade.
The family chose to donate the revenue from the soybeans—more than $2,300—to the Lansford Fire Department.
Gulke says Ag PhD and RFD TV/Radio sponsored the float.
