Women throughout Minot gathered at the Public library tonight to have their voices heard.
The Minot Public library hosted its first Women Lead Women Run forum. It's goal was to hear from women in leadership roles within the community and encourage and support other women to be leaders. Attendees say it's important to have a great support group.
“It's really important that women feel that their voices can be heard and are represented. A lot of times women are afraid to be in the public eye and I hope that this group will help empower women who've thought about running and maybe those that are a little bit of afraid to know they have a support group behind them,” said Nancy Simpson, event attendee.
Library staff say they hope to have another event like this in the future.
