MINOT, N.D.- The results are in, and the Minot Police Department has announced their officer and employee of the year for 2017.
We are not releasing the officer of the year's name to protect his identity.
The employee of the year is Dispatcher Sean Christie.
Both winners were nominated by members of the police department staff, and selected by a committee of past award recipients.
Christie has been with Minot Police Department since 2013 and is valued for his genuine care for the officers on-duty.
This is what police chief Jason Olson had to say about the officer of the year.
“He’s a hard worker, been selected as a SWAT team member, and has recently been assigned to our narcotics task force. So just an outstanding hard worker and that was recognized today,” said Olson.
Also at the ceremony, Senior Officer Greg Johnson, was promoted to Sergeant.
