MINOT N.D. - The Minot Fire Department is looking for more candidates to join its crew.

On Tuesday the department held a recruiting open house to give potential candidates an opportunity to get familiar with the job and receive advice regarding the firefighting recruitment process.

The Battalion Chief said the department is currently understaffed and are looking to hire at least eight people to fill positions.

“This is an awesome opportunity, we're going to be hiring several people, get their foot in the door into a promising and rewarding career. It's an awesome place to work,” said Lonnie Sather, Minot Fire Department battalion chief.

The deadline for applications is Monday, Feb. 26, and applicants must complete the written firefighter exam and physical agility test on Saturday, March 3 at 9 a.m. at the Minot Municipal Auditorium.
