MINOT, N.D. (AP) – Minot Air Force Base is contributing even more money to Minot's economy.
The Air Force says the base contributed about $591 million to the local economy in fiscal year 2016.
That's about $30 million more than fiscal year 2015.
Lt. Col. Raymond Castro presented the base’s impact report to the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce Thursday.
The impact includes the military members payroll, civilians employed on base, expenses and the estimated dollar value of the jobs created.
Castro said Minot Air Force Base has a population more than 12,000 people, with 5,500 military members.
