MINOT, N.D. - Construction crews achieved a major milestone on the Broadway Bridge Friday.
The first of six major concrete pours was laid down to form the roadway of the east portion of the Bridge.
About forty workers are needed to complete the job.
Mark Lyman the Projects Information Officer says this is a crucial part of construction.
He reminds drivers to keep their eyes on the road while crossing over the bridge and to not get distracted by the work being done beside them.
"This is an important milestone and something that you want to get right because at this late in the season you really only have one shot at it. This is what everyone is going to be driving on for the next twenty to thirty years. You don't want to have to redo this in five years. It has to be the right surface, tension, and the right smoothness. Everything has to be good," said Lyman.
