MANDAN, N.D. - UPDATE (1/23): The Mandan Police Department says an autopsy was performed on a 27-year-old man that was found dead in his residence Friday. Police say it appears the head injury was superficial and doesn’t seem to be the cause of death.
ORIGINAL STORY (1/22): A 27-year-old was found unresponsive Friday morning at 1100 West Main, inside a residence by his girlfriend.
Mandan police say they always investigate suspicious unattended deaths.
Lt. Pat Haug, at Mandan PD says the man had a small wound to the back of his head.
CPR was being performed when officers arrived on scene and the man was taken to Sanford where he was later pronounced dead.
Haug says an autopsy will be performed Tuesday morning. At that time they will be able to determine what the laceration is from.
