MANDAN, ND - The Mandan High School Band is about to shake off the little town blues in New York, New York.

The band is fundraising today at Station West in Mandan.

Starting at eleven this morning Students from the band are waiting tables and serving food at the restaurant until ten tonight.

They will receive all tips and a portion of all menu sales. The money raised will help pay for their upcoming trip to New York to participate in a national competition.

"The best thing is just getting to perform for national adjudicators and learn from people outside of where we are. There's a lot of great things going on in our world and it's good for our kids to see what's going on out there," said Jon Baumann, Director of Bands at Mandan High School.

The trip to New York will be taking place this coming March.
