Man dies from close-range gunshot wound in Dickinson

DICKINSON, ND - A 21-year-old man died from a close-range gunshot wound in Dickinson Saturday.

Dickinson police responded to CHI St. Alexius about 1:40 a.m. for a report of a gunshot victim.

Tanner Carrico was shot in the abdomen and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

After police obtained a search warrant, they investigated the crime scene on Abraham Parkway and found the handgun they believe was used in the shooting.

The victim's acquaintance, 20-year-old Boyd Stroh, was taken into custody Saturday morning and charged with Class B felony manslaughter.

Stroh is being held at the South West Multi County Correctional Center.
