Man dies after being struck by train near Roughrider Days Parade

DICKINSON, ND - Police say a 64-year-old man died after a train hit him near downtown Dickinson during the Roughrider Days Parade Saturday morning.

According to a press release, the man was walking south from Villard when he walked onto the tracks. An BNSF train heading towards Mandan hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say no one on the train was injured.

Police will release the man's name when they notify his next of kin.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the situation.
