Man charged in Minot trailer court shooting headed for trial

A man who faces 17 felony counts—including attempted murder—in a January shooting at a Minot trailer court appears headed for trial next year.

Prosecutors say that 30-year-old James Blue II opened fire at a trailer in the Northland Trailer Park on Jan 17. Police say that Blue fired a shot at an officer but missed.

Investigators also say that Blue threatened to shoot a woman the previous night.

Blue has been in custody for nearly nine months. The courts have yet to set a trial date.

Blue faces a separate charge of aggravated assault, stemming from accusations he choked a woman in December of 2016 to the point where she lost consciousness.
