WILLISTON, N.D. - A man accused of murdering two people in Williston in May has pleaded not guilty.
Thirty-two-year-old Lamar Putney waived his preliminary hearing this week and maintains he is innocent.
Putney is charged with two counts of murder after authorities say he killed Diandre Lott and Donzell Washington.
Officials say the day of the shooting, Putney gave a different account as to what took place. Court documents show Putney told investigators that Lott and Washington had a gun, but the lab result showed neither men's fingerprints could be found on any of the weapons recovered from the apartment.
Putney's trial is set for January 31. He is being held at the Williams County Correctional Center on $2 million bail.
