Late season mountain lion hunting limit reached in ND's Zone 1

The limit has been reached for late season mountain lion hunting in North Dakota's Zone 1.

It's either seven total cats or three females, and this morning, a third female was taken.

However, a conditional season in Zone 1 will open Jan. 4, for hunters to pursue two additional mountain lions that were not taken during the early season.

That season will close March 31, or immediately after the second cat is taken.

Zone 1 is basically the southwestern corner of the state, where mountain lions are more prevalent.
