BISMARCK, N.D. - The residents at Bismarck's St. Gabriel's assisted living community have been around a long time, and the things they know make them legendary.
They have a lot to share with community leaders. And, that's what the Leaders and Legends program is all about.
If you want to talk about changes in the Bismarck community, just bring these legends together with community leaders, like Bismarck Police Chief Dan Donlin.
He was the guest speaker at the Leaders and Legends event. He ate breakfast and visited with residents of St. Gabriel's Community, discussing the developments and changes their city is going through.
"This is a great way to connect with important people in our community. I think we're just going to talk about the changes over the years of Bismarck. So, it's going to be very interesting, and I'm excited to be up here and meet with everybody," said Donlin.
St. Gabriel's Community offers its residents a chance to continue to be part of the community, especially with the Leaders and Legends event.
"It's great to see the people in the community to become part of the activities that are going on here and knowing what's available here and what people are doing and what they can do living here," said Al Wolf, resident of St. Gabriel's Community.
Employee Melissa Hammond says a lot of residents at the assisted, senior living housing don't have visitors, so having Bismarck-Mandan leaders come and talk to the legends make them feel valued.
Next month, St. Gabriel's Community hopes to have Bismarck Mayor Mike Seminary come to speak with the legends living there.
