The increase in oil production for North Dakota in August contributed to the Dakota Access Pipeline boosting the state's tax revenues by $18 million.

Justin Kringstad...the pipeline authority director...says producers have seen a $2 increase per barrel in the average price for Bakken crude in June, July, and August compared to last year.

This is due to more competitive transportation costs since the pipeline went into service back in June.
