MINOT, N.D. - Organizers of the $1 billion flood protection project will hold a special groundbreaking later in March.
The groundbreaking will take place Wed., March 28 around 1 p.m., just west of 16th Street on Forest Road, near the city’s water treatment plant.
It's the ceremonial beginning of the work on the first phase of the project, though some of the work has already begun or has been completed—including construction of a wall around the water treatment plant.
The public is encouraged to attend. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will move to the Minot Auditorium.
