BISMARCK, N.D. - BreatheND, the voter created tobacco prevention program, will close on June 30.
Gov. Doug Burgum, R-N.D., signed into law Senate Bill 2024 which repeals laws setting up the program.
Proponents of the law say the money, which comes from a tobacco settlement trust fund, could be more efficiently used by the health department.
However, BreatheND's director says youth smoking has decreased at double the rate since its creation.
