Gov. Doug Burgum asked to leave ND Senate floor for wearing jeans

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Gov. Doug Burgum's love for jeans got him booted from the state Senate's floor.

Burgum was posing for a picture with some high school students on Wednesday when he was asked to leave.

A spokesperson for the governor says Bergum didn't mean to disrespect to the chamber rules.

Sources say other male lawmakers who wear a suit and tie when the Legislature is in session aren't a big fan of the governor's causal wear.

Burgum also wore jeans at his inauguration last month.
