Student activists are raising awareness for hunger and homelessness issues in the area as they are "freezin' for a reason."
From 7 in the morning until 7 tonight they will be collecting cash donations as well as non-perishable food items, warm clothing, blankets, pillows and hygeine products.
The Missouri Valley Coalition for homeless people will then disperse these items to help individuals and families who need some extra help for those cold winter days.
“You know, it's not easy living here in the cold conditions, especially when you don't have the necessities that basic life requires. I'm happy that I can do something to help and I hope that others feel so inclined to do so as well,” said Emma Hafdahl, a senior at University of Mary.
There are three locations taking donations, the patio at Dunn Brother's Coffee in Bismarck, Ride's Auto in Mandan and Bismarck South Walmart.
