Former LaMoure police chief to change pleas in child sexual abuse case

LAMOURE, N.D. - The Hettinger and Stark county trials for former LaMoure police chief James Watson have been canceled according to the court docket.

Attorney Tom Henning says Watson is set to change his plea for both cases.

The Hettinger trial was for gross sexual imposition and the Stark trial was for continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Watson was convicted last week of continuous sexual abuse of a child in Golden Valley.

A plea change hearing has not been set for either cases.
