First Choice fundraiser brings out survivor of abortion

A woman who survived her mother's abortion attempt spoke in Bismarck Tuesday night.

Gianna Jessen was born two months premature while a doctor was attempting to perform a saline abortion. Jessen has cerebral palsy as a result. She travels the world telling her story, and on Tuesday shared her message at the First Choice Clinic's fall fundraising banquet.

"She's really just talking about why life is good and all the wonderful things that come with being a survivor and an overcomer,” First Choice Clinic Executive Director Angela Wambach said.

First Choice Clinic is a non-profit with locations in Bismarck, Fargo and Devils Lake. It helps about 2,000 mothers and families each year with unplanned pregnancies.
