Don’t Buy It Until We Try It: Miracle Bamboo Cushion

MINOT, N.D. - As you may have heard, sitting is the new smoking. It's a major health concern for people who type on a computer all day long at work and often for hours at home as well.

If you have to sit for long periods of time, you know it can be tough on your back, but this week's Don't Buy It Until We Try It product claims to be a miracle.

Like the box says, sitting creates pain, but the Miracle Bamboo Cushion thinks it has the cure.

Sitting in an office chair all day can put pressure on your back, but cushions like these say you can just plop it down, have a seat, and it'll help relieve that pressure. Infinite Health Chiropractic tried it out.

On first sit, this seems pretty great - it's soft and supportive.

"It was really comfortable, and I wouldn't mind sitting on it all day. Sciatica issues, low back pain issues, that kind of stuff would be ideal for this kind of stuff," Chiropractor Dr. Annika Larson said.

While there are many different models, Larson has pointed her patients in the direction of these kinds of cushions before.

"The patient that I recommended it for, she travels a lot for her job, she sits at a desk a lot for her job and she has bulging and herniated disks in her low back, which causes a lot of numbness and tingling down into her legs, so people like that is someone I would recommend it for," Larson said.

But it's not a magic cure that will make your chronic back pain disappear, trust me.

"Going top your chiropractor, going to your medical doctor and finding the underlying cause of your symptoms is priority number one," Larson said.

And just a word of warning, the zipper to wash the cover is a little tricky. To this day it’s still stuck.

Otherwise the Miracle Bamboo Cushion gets a thumbs up.Larson reiterated several times that if you have back pain to discuss options with a doctor or chiropractor.

Cushions like the Miracle Bamboo Cushion can be found online and in stores.
