Don't Buy It, Until We Try It: Copper Crisper

By  |

MINOT, N.D. - Fried food is as American as apple pie and in this week's don't buy it until we try it, Stephanie Rank tries a product that claims to make your favorite fried foods in the comfort of your home.

We all love it. Fries, fish, chicken; all can be fried. and now there's a device that claims to get that same crispy goodness in the convenience of your own home, the Copper Crisper. But, I had to see if its claims were true so I headed over to Marketplace Foods Deli to check it out.

The crisper is a two piece set, that includes the non-stick basket and the stainless steel rim and it does not require any oil.

"I like it because it's safe at home and you don't have to have grease splatter all over you," said Kim Burlingame, deli manager at Marketplace Foods at Arrowhead.

We used frozen chicken and after putting it into the oven, out came some crispy chicken bites.

"I think it's much safer and it cooks evenly and cooks crisper and cooks just like a frying pan," said Burlingame.

Making this product a great kitchen gadget.

"I would give it a thumbs up because it's healthier, and it's much safer to cook with and convenient," said Burlingame.

The copper crisper sells for about 20 dollars and if you have any ideas for my next
