MINOT N.D. - If you love to bake, waiting for your cake to be done can feel like an eternity. But, in this week's Don't Buy It Until We Try It we try a product that claims to make the perfect moist cake in less than six minutes.
There's nothing like baking a cake.
Betty Crocker’s microwave cake maker claims to cook your delicious dessert in five minutes. So I headed over to Marketplace Foods Bakery to test it out.
Betty Crocker says the cake maker can make the perfect cake in three easy steps, but we found the directions difficult to read.
"It doesn't have the instructions on the box but it has it inside the bowl but it's hard to read," said Kim Burlingame, Deli Manager at Marketplace Foods at Arrowhead.
After adding and mixing all the ingredients, it was time to pop it into the microwave for five and a half minutes.
"It's great because you can pop it into the microwave cook it, instead of cooking it in a conventional oven for 30 to 40 minutes verses five minutes in the microwave," said Burlingame.
When the time was up, we tested our creation.
“That's really good,” said Burlingame.
Giving this cake maker a mixed review.
"I would give it a thumbs up and a thumbs down. The thumbs up because the cake is moist and good. Thumbs down because it's so hard to read the instructions on the inside," said Burlingame.
The Cake maker Sells for about $12 and if you have any ideas for my next.
