BISMARCK, N.D. - There's only 41 days until Christmas, which is a lot of time to get ready. But, do retail shops set up for the holiday too early?
Most people KFYR spoke to said that they wish Thanksgiving could have its own holiday before the Christmas cheer takes over.
Kirkwood Mall is already in the Christmas spirit with Santa checking his list and retail stores decking their halls.
"I personally love Christmas, so I don't think it's too early. But, we do know our customers start shopping for Christmas much earlier than the Black Friday kick off," says Jennifer Wilson, general manager of Kirkwood Mall.
While others believe it's way too early for the jolly time.
"I agree with the Thanksgiving, there's so much we have to be thankful for in this country. But I'm also thankful for Christmas, but I do wish there was a little time in between the two," said Robin Walstad, Williston resident.
Although some people say it's too early for Christmas, it's never too early to sit on Santa's lap.
"Gives the opportunity for the kids to get in with Santa when time is a little bit busier closer to Christmas," said Chris Vandal, Mandan resident.
Walstad said that he think's people need to be thankful for the things that Christmas gives us, so he believes we should recognize Thanksgiving first before celebrating Christmas.
The Kirkwood Mall has a lot of events planned for November and December.
