Tonight, a new Miss North Dakota will be crowned in Williston.
But this afternoon, the contestants took some time to meet with the public at the James Memorial Art Center for an Ice Cream Social. The first scholarship money of the weekend was also awarded. Each contestant is paired up with a "little sister." Each little sister wrote about their contestant, and the best two presented their sister with a scholarship check.
"I am so honored that she thinks that about me. I didn't think that I could impact someone that much and Just the sister program that the Miss North Dakota Organization has put together is amazing and I'm just so glad to have her and thankful that she wrote that about me, it was so sweet," said Maiya Gerde and Ella Richards, Miss State Capital 2016.
