BISMARCK, ND Artists from around the area came to the Former Governor's Mansion this afternoon to work on projects with friends.
Once a year the former governor's mansion opens to area artists to give them a place to socialize as they work. While knitting, quilting, and crocheting dominated the event, other forms of art were present as well. Some snacks and refreshments were also available to the artists.
"It kind of hearkens back to a century or so ago, when people would just get together to work on quilts or whatever projects to finish them and just have an excuse to get together," said Larissa Harrison, a Bismarck Resident.
About 20 artists participated in the event.
