Companions for Children seeking mentors for 'Lunch Pals'

MINOT, N.D. - Do you think you could be a child's role model?

Companions for Children is preparing for the upcoming school season's debut of "Lunch Pals."

Upon acceptance, mentors are paired with a child and get to visit with the child during their lunch twice a month.

Sunnyside Elementary and Washington Elementary are the participating schools involved in this program.

"We check in with each mentor after each time they go have lunch. So they submit a report and we follow up with them and help them out, if they have any challenges or questions or even anything we can help with just to be there as that support piece for the mentor and the mentee too" said Executive Director Heather Cymbaluk.

Companions for children is also in need of male mentors for their year-round mentor program.
