WILLISTON, N.D. - Charges have been filed in the unattended death of a Williston man last week.

The Williston Police Department says Thomas Ober died of a drug overdose.

He was discovered alone in a car on the Williston State College campus, but surveillance tapes tell a different story.

Police say the footage shows there were initially two men in the car.

They say Dustin Pitman drove into the parking lot, got out of the car and a short time later called the department's non-emergency line to say there was an unresponsive man in the parking lot of the college.

Police say Ober was found in a position inconsistent with typical overdoses. Pitman has been charged with possessing a schedule two controlled substance, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and four misdemeanor charges.

He is held on $50,000 bond and will next be in court on July 13.
