Changes may be coming to Highway 83 north of I-94.
The Bismarck-Mandan Metropolitan Planning Organization is asking for feedback about what works, and what doesn't when it comes to traffic flow. It's focused mainly on truck traffic, and how to move it around Bismarck. The stretch between the interstate and Highway 36 handles anywhere from 10,000 to 43,000 cars per day.
"We know we have a lot of crashes along highway 83 that's not acceptable to the DOT, to the city, the county or the MPO,” MPO executive Director Steve Saunders said. “So we'd like to you know maybe something here could alleviate that too."
