Caleb's Clubhouse offers 'Sensory Santa' for youngsters

Caleb's Clubhouse welcomed a special visitor Friday for kids in the Magic City.

Visiting with Santa is a special part of the Christmas season.

Caleb's Clubhouse hosted their Sensory Santa event to make sure that all kids were given a chance to meet with Old Saint Nick.

“A lot of kids with special needs have a hard time going to the mall. There's a lot of noise and activities going on and so we wanted to make it more sensory friendly for all kids of all abilities,” said Kelsey Kittleson.

Kids of all ages were invited inside for additional activities to bring in the holiday spirit.

“We are doing increments of thirty minutes, so it's less congestion for the kids. Lower lighting, we're going to have a therapy dog and things are kind of broken into different rooms,” said Kittleson.

Even Santa shared a few words to kids at home, unable to visit with him.

“My message to kids is just to enjoy Christmas, remember that Christmas is about family and that they should take care of their rooms, they should keep their rooms clean,” said Santa.

Giving children the chance to mark down the days until Christmas.

This is the first year Caleb's Clubhouse has hosted Sensory Santa. They say that Christmas is their favorite time of year and hope to continue this tradition.
