Bond set for woman charged with exploiting vulnerable 74-year-old in Williston

WILLISTON, N.D. - Bond has been set for a woman accused of exploiting a vulnerable adult.

Forty-nine-year-old Sandra Steinberg was charged with taking thousands of dollars from a homebound 74-year-old woman.

Monday, a judge set her bond at $10,000 and she must not have contact with the victim.

Her next court appearance is May 11.


ORIGINAL STORY 4/7: A Woman has been charged with exploiting a vulnerable adult in Williston.

Police say 49-year-old Sandra Steinberg had been taking care of a 74-year-old housebound woman since 2015.

They say Steinberg had access to her apartment, mailbox and credit cards, and had authorization to sign on the woman's bank account.

When her brother reviewed her bank records, he noticed several unauthorized withdrawals, amounting to nearly $16,000.

Steinberg is expected to have a bond hearing on Monday.
