Now that the NFL season has started, that means junior hockey is about to begin. The Bismarck Bobcats play a regular season schedule that covers parts of 8 months. It’s a grueling grind that starts next week.
The hockey season always seems to sneak up on me, but it does for nearly everyone including the head coach, Layne Sedevie. "Somehow I think it does on us too, it just seems like how we don't have much of a summer or anything like that. It seems like we're always going but we've been on the ice for a couple of weeks now so starting to get acclimated to things and we got an exhibition game last Saturday up in Minot and play tomorrow night here as well so we'll do out first cuts on Thursday and go from there."
Sedevie has more returning experience this season than the Bobcats had last year at this time. The exhibition game tomorrow is important for the players on the bubble.
"Yes it is and we have a couple guys coming into town,” mentions Sedevie. “We're going to get a couple more in so these kids , it's obviously a big opportunity for them if they really want to be here they have to show us that."
The Bobcats start the season next week at the showcase in Minnesota.
