Bismarck man out $1,200 in puppy scam

BISMARCK, N.D. - If you're in the market to buy a dog, be careful because authorities say a Bismarck man is out $1,200 from a puppy scam.

The 24-year-old purchased two French Bulldogs from the website at the bottom of your screen.

The victim told police he sent payment through a Moneygram, and realized it was a scam when the seller tried to change the way the puppies were shipped.

Officer Pat Renz says you should ask the seller for references to make sure the the transaction is legitimate.
