Police in Bismarck are warning people about marijuana that's laced with fentanyl going around.

A doctor recently called the department, reporting a patient who got sick after smoking marijuana.

The patient tested positive for marijuana, meth, and fentanyl.

"Marijuana is probably more wide-spread used than heroin is, so if people are going to be accidentally ingesting fentanyl, a very low level of fentanyl can be lethal, you know, at very low dosages. So that's pretty dangerous business," says Sgt. Mark Buschena, Bismarck Police Department.

Fentanyl can be fatal if swallowed, inhaled or absorbed through the skin.
