Bismarck Police looking for suspect

BISMARCK UPDATE: The Bismarck Police say they have not located a man who led law enforcement on a high speed chase through Burleigh County. After they were notified of a chase going south on highway 83, law enforcement terminated the pursuit once it got to North Bismarck.

A highway patrol airplane tracked the vehicle to the intersection of 16th street and hanaford ave where the vehicle ran a stop sign and crashed into another car. A man then got out of the car and fled on foot.

Law enforcement attempted to track the suspect, but lost the trail. They say the suspect is not a danger to the public but ask for anyone who sees him to call the police.

The suspect is described as a taller male with a shaved head, tattoos on his neck, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a red backpack.


ORIGINAL STORY: Bismarck Police are actively looking for a suspect that fled from officers. He fled from officers in another jurisdiction and crashed his vehicle at the corner of 16th street and Hanaford avenue, fleeing on foot.

A wrecked dodge truck was at in yard on the corner of 16th and Hanaford this afternoon. Police chased the vehicle south on I-94 into Bismarck where it entered the area around Simle Middle School. A large concentration of law enforcement is still patrolling in the blocks around the ruined vehicle.

The suspect is described as a taller male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a red backpack.
